On October 28, the Beijing Dance Academy’s special performance at the 30th International Baltic Ballet Festival was held at the Dailes Theater in Riga. Ambassador Tang Songgen attended the event and delivered remarks. Nearly 600 guests, including leading figures from Latvia’s art community and various other sectors, enjoyed the performance together.

In his speech, Ambassador Tang noted that the International Baltic Ballet Festival is a grand event in the world of ballet and in the cultural life of Baltic countries. The performance of Beijing Dance Academy in Latvia showcases Chinese philosophy, history, and aesthetic traditions through Chinese dance. It is a vivid practice of implementing Global Civilization Initiative and promoting cultural exchanges between China and Latvia, playing an important role in bridging friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries. 

Under the theme “Obvious - Impossible”, the Beijing Dance Academy dancers presented twelve well-selected pieces, including “《凤鸾歌舞》FengLuan Gewu”, which demonstrated the long history of Chinese dance and the inclusive and innovative inheritance of Chinese culture. The audience responded with prolonged applause, deeply moved by the charm of Chinese culture, and praised Chinese dance as a treasure that embodies the wisdom of Chinese civilization and the strength of the nation.
