To further facilitate cross-border travel, China will extend its visa-exemption arrangements to Latvia and other countries covered by the policy to Dec. 31, 2026.

Ordinary passport holders from 45 countries including Latvia can be exempted from visa requirement if travelling to China for the purpose of business & trade, tourism, family or friends visits, exchange, transit and sports competition. They can stay in China for no more than 30 days without visa. 

Individuals who do not meet the visa-free conditions mentioned above still need to apply for visa before entering China.
