We have noticed the comments related to China made by the Japanese Foreign Minister currently on a visit to Latvia. I would like to stress that the East China Sea and South China Sea concern China’s territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, and the issues related to Hong Kong and Xinjiang belong to China’s internal affairs. These issues concern China’s fundamental interests and allow no external interference. China will firmly safeguard its national sovereignty, security and development interests. It is the common responsibility of countries in the region to promote stability and prosperity of Asia-Pacific region, and we hope that the policies and actions of relevant parties be conducive to maintaining and enhancing peace, prosperity and stability in the region.
