Applicants holding Latvian Passport who travel to HK for sightseeing, visiting relatives or business tour can enjoy a visa free period for visit not exceeding 90 days. However, if any one of the following conditions is met, applicants shall make Hong Kong visa application through the Chinese embassy in Latvia or the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR):
(1) Holder of Latvian Passport who intend to stay in Hong Kong for more than 90 days;
(2) Holder of Latvian Alien Passport;
(3) Applicants visit HK for the purpose of employment, residence, performance or holding exhibition;
(4) Applicants visit HK for the purpose of study or career training.

II. Chinese citizens visit Hong Kong
1. Transit
(1) Chinese passport holders who are in transit through Hong Kong from another country, region or territory may be granted a stay of 7 days without the prior need to obtain an entry permit, with the condition of possession of valid Chinese passport and confirmed onward air tickets for the overseas journey. If Chinese passport holders will go for mainland China or Macau via Hong Kong, onward air tickets are not compulsory.
Chinese passport holders who are transit through Hong Kong from mainland China to another country, region or territory may be granted a stay of 7 day without the prior need to obtain an entry permit with the condition of possession of valid visa for the destination and confirmed onward air tickets for the overseas journey.
(2) If a Chinese citizen intends to stay in Hong Kong for more than 7 days, he or she shall apply a visa from the Chinese Embassy in Latvia for single entry/double entries with the validity of 3 month and duration of 30 days taking his/her schedule into consideration.
